Semester Reflection
In this semester, i learned a lot! I learned about using the pen tool to trace or just make outlines for our own shapes or objects. I also learned about color and fill. I learned about the different color schemes and what different combinations get which moods across. I learned about how to use value and space in a good way. In two assignments, we had to mimic different artists to try to get our work to look like theirs. The first was Pop Art and we mimiced Andy Warhol and we took pictures of ourselves and used the different color schemes for each version of the picture. The other was If i crossed the road, and we mimiced Steven Kroniger. We learned about sizing and how to make our assignment look crazy and unique. We also learned how to make photo mosiacs and i liked that because the outcome product looked really cool. We worked with layer masks and other cool tools this semester too. Next semester I would like to work on really fun projects like this semester. Maybe even group assignments like a contest?
Review Week 17
Have you learned something?
I learned about Serifs and facts about where they originated from. There are two main types of Serifs. They are Adnate and Abrupt. The Adnate serifs are more organic and curvy, while the Abrupt are more squarer and rigid. Slab Serif is an example of Abrupt type. Serifs are the curly things on the letters even though they're not always curly!

Review Week 16
How many points are in an inch? How many points are in a pica?
72 pts in an inch, 12 pts in a pica
Of the seven classifications, which classification(s) would best work as body type? Why?
I think Old Style would work the best for a body type because it is pretty plain and easy to read. Plus it has good spacing.
Identify the lowercase characters that have ascenders?
t, i, d, f, h. j, k, l, b
Identify the lowercase characters that have descenders?
q, y, p, f, g, j
Classify the following typefaces and briefly explain why you believe it should be classified that way:

![]() |
Sans Serif because it is pretty basic and easy to read |
![]() |
Sans Serif because it looks like a handwriting and its pretty basic and not hard to look at. |
![]() |
I would say Ornamental because this type of font is not usually seen as a body text. It would work best as a larger title font or something. |
![]() |
This one would be Serif because it is really easy to read and very very basic. |
![]() |
This one could be Blackletter because it looks like an old times font. |
![]() |
This one could be Serif because it is also basic but the words are closer together. |
![]() |
This one is Serif but it is less compressed and more spread out. But a good body font. |
