target audience- primary group of people that the product is aimed for
message- communication that can come across visually, verbally, or any other means.
work ethic- skills that you need to have to be a good worker
employability skills- skills that will help you be employed or be good employee
20/20 Rule- every 20 minutes stare off for 20 seconds 20 feet away.
Right-To-Know Laws- laws that make sure employers inform their employee's of health hazards and other information they might not want to tell them but they have too.
icon- represents a program or image on the computer
vector-based graphics- vector graphics are better when you're zooming in because it still stays clear and doesn't show the little pixels.

hue- color
primary colors- blue, yellow, red..they mix together to form secondary colors.
secondary colors- result of mixing 2 primary colors (green, orange, purple)
tertiary colors- result of mixing a primary color with a secondary color (ex. Yellow-green)
neutral colors- don't show up on the color wheel; they are used to tone down or draw attention to other colors off of the color wheel
continuous tone image- is smooth and has different shades and gradients

serif- smaller line used to finish off a main stroke of a letter,
body type- type sizes that range from 4 pt through 12 pt type
display type- type sizes above 12 pt. typically, these sizes are used to draw attention to a message.
reverse type- consists of white type on a solid black or darker color background. If the text is too small reverse type can be difficult on the readers eye.
point size- size of the point being typedligatures- is two or more letters combined into one character
ampersand- the symbol "&" used for "and"
small caps- capital or uppercase letters that are a smaller size than the regular capitals
lowercase- small non capitalized letters
uppercase- capital letters
flush left- every line is aligned to the left
flush right- every line is aligned to the right
centered- everything is centered along a middle axis
justified- aligns the left and right margins
lining- all uniform (same height, on a baseline, no ascenders or descenders
nonlining- not all the same height/size, different baseline, ascenders and descenders
leading- space between lines of type
margins- space between the edge to your measurement. Where you keep all the important things.
kerning- allows you to change the space in between characters of type
tracking- allows you to change the space between a large amount of type
concept- an idea; something formed in ones mind
final product- what the target audience will eventually see; end result
thumbnails- quick sketches to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper
